Currently OmniGen Research markets the following services and products:
Aspergillus fumigatus DNA testing
A. fumigatus has been implicated in a variety of diseases including mycotic abortion and hemorrhagic bowel syndrome. In humans, this mold invades immunocompromised patients and has a high mortality rate. It has similar potential in livestock.

C. perfringens toxin DNA testing
C. perfringens is a common gastrointestinal pathogen resulting in hemorrhagic disorders. Several strains have been idenitifed which release a mixture of different toxins. C. perfringens strains may be identified by characteirzing the patterns of toxins produced. OmniGen Research, in addition to A. fumigatus DNA testing, is able to complete analysis of samples for clostridial toxin DNA typing. This is a non-quantitative method and should be used to detect the presence of C. perfringens toxins only.
Testing for the presence of this pathogenic mold is available through the OmniGen Research. The cost is $24 per sample.

L-selectin testing (Now Available!)
L-selectin has been used as an index of innate immune function
in mammals. The laboratory at OmniGen research has recently
developed a quantitative RT-PCR method for determination of L-selectin
mRNA concentrations in blood samples. Producers, veterinarians and
nutritionists may send whole blood samples to the laboratory at OmniGen Research for quantitative assessment of L-selectin mRNA levels.
A new kit is available for this purpose. Please contact the research lab
for shipment of L-selectin kits.
